OLATHE, KAN. (Oct. 3, 2016) - For the fifth year in a row, Olathe Medical Center (OMC) has earned the Platinum Performance Achievement Award - the highest award - for exemplary heart attack care from Get With The Guidelines (GWTG). In addition, OMC earned the GWTG Stroke Silver Plus Quality Achievement Award plus honor roll recognition from the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association.
OMC is one of the top 3 percent of hospitals nationwide to receive the GWTG Platinum Performance Achievement Award from the American College of Cardiology's NCDR ACTION Registry for maintaining a high standard of care for heart attack patients. The award recognizes hospitals that have maintained very high heart attack treatment performance scores for eight consecutive quarters and have performed at the highest level of standards for specific performance measures.
The GWTG Stroke Silver Plus Quality Achievement Award, given by the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association, recognizes hospitals that meet nationally, research-based quality standards for an entire year. OMC also achieved the Target: Stroke Honor Roll for meeting quality achievement measures for the diagnosis and treatment of stroke patients.
GWTG is a hospital-based quality improvement initiative created by the American Heart/American Stroke Association to improve the care of patients with cardiac diseases and stroke.
