OLATHE, KAN. (Sept. 26, 2018) –
Today, the Olathe Health Board of Directors announced the selection of Stan Holm, CHFP, FACHE, as the growing health system’s new President/CEO. Holm will start his tenure with Olathe Health on November 1, 2018. He will serve as the top executive over all entities of Olathe Health, including Olathe Medical Center, Miami County Medical Center, and Olathe Health Physicians.
“The Board of Directors was committed to finding a new leader with extensive experience as a CEO in very competitive environments,” Board Chairman James Hubbard said. “We are especially impressed with Stan’s track record of building positive culture, physician recruitment and relations, and developing services that transform patient care in a positive way. He clearly possesses the right experience, expertise and positive attitude to lead our thriving health system as we grow to meet the needs of the communities we serve.”
Holm brings more than 23 years of healthcare management to his new role, most recently serving as CEO of Abrazo West, part of Abrazo Community Health Network. Abrazo is a large, Arizona health system, owned and operated by Tenet Healthcare. He has had accountability for two hospitals with more than 600 physicians on staff and a Level 1 Trauma Center. His career as a healthcare leader also included hospital systems in Florida, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Texas. He is a Board Certified Healthcare Financial Professional of the Healthcare Financial Management Association as well as a Board Certified Diplomate and Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
Holm is replacing Frank H. Devocelle, who is retiring after 47 years of leadership of Olathe Health. “During the interview process, I had the privilege of meeting Frank, who leaves an extraordinary legacy,” Holm said. “Partnering with a strong Board and Medical Executive Committee, I am very excited to help advance the mission and strategies of Olathe Health. Having family in Kansas City as well as Joplin and also northeastern Oklahoma, my wife, two daughters and I are thrilled to be closer to family and to become active in the communities we serve.”
Throughout his entire career, Holm has served numerous volunteer roles in support of the community. This includes executive board leadership, memberships and service to organizations such as Chambers of Commerce, Rotary, Habitat for Humanity, Boys & Girls Clubs, and the United Way.
He has a long list of personal awards and achievements. Among the honors are: Southwest Valley Chamber of Commerce – Icon Award; Outstanding Healthcare Executive of the Year for State of Arizona; Health Management Associates Top Performing Executive; and serving as an Honorary Commander, Medical Group, 56th Fighter Wing, Luke Air Force Base.
