OLATHE, KAN. (April 25, 2019) – Olathe Health announced plans for the first phase of a medical campus in Gardner at the Gardner Edgerton Chamber annual dinner Wednesday. The first phase of the campus will include family medicine, urgent care, and expanded imaging and lab services.
Olathe Health Gardner Edgerton is already under construction at I-35 and Gardner Rd. Phase one will be a 13,600 square foot building expected to open in early 2020. Future phases of the medical campus will be determined based upon community needs.
“We have 25 acres available at a very convenient spot for residents and employers in the Gardner Edgerton area,” Stan Holm, Olathe Health President/CEO, said. “As the need arises, we have enough space to add emergency services, inpatient beds, surgery suites, innovative wellness activities and other services in the future. Gardner Edgerton is a thriving area, and we are committed to remaining connected to these communities.”
Olathe Health has been a staple of healthcare in Gardner Edgerton since 1994, when Gardner Family Care (now called Olathe Health Family Medicine – Gardner) opened. Since then, Care Express opened in the Price Chopper in 2008 and Olathe Health Rehabilitation Services opened in 2014.
Olathe Health Family Medicine will move from its current location on S. Center St. to the new clinic at the Gardner Edgerton campus. The new clinic will provide the space for additional providers, as well as increased access to convenient appointments, urgent care and expanded imaging and laboratory services. The current family medicine office will then be available for expanded services, such as physical and occupational therapies.
Partners in this project include, Hoefer Wysocki, Meyer Brothers Building Company, Terracon and Payne & Brockway Civil Engineers.
