Adeline Ora Tilly Gallagher wasn’t joking around when she made her entrance into the world, arriving at 3:42 p.m. on April Fool’s Day.
“This was the fourth child I have delivered at Olathe Medical Center,” Kristi said. “I will be honest, I am sad I won’t be back on that floor. It was like a mini vacation for me!”
Kristi chose The Birth Place to deliver her first child because it was the closest hospital, but soon learned it offered far more than just a convenient location. When it came time to deliver her other children, she knew she wanted to go back to the hotel-like amenities at OMC, but more importantly the friendly staff.
Her fourth delivery started the morning of April 1, 2017. Kristi woke up with some cramping but didn’t think much of it. After running a few errands, she tried to take a nap. By 3 p.m., she knew it was time to head to the hospital. Kristi got to The Birth Place at 3:15 p.m. In less than 30 minutes, Adeline was born.
“When we got to the birthing suite, my nurse, Misty, and another nurse, Heather, knew there wasn’t a lot of time, which meant no time for an epidural,” Kristi said. “Heather was by my side calming me down and telling me to breathe during the strong birthing pains. Misty did an amazing job keeping me calm during the delivery. I can’t tell you how incredible the nurses were.”
One Year Later
The Gallagher family finally has a system down. With four kids, they’re constantly on the go, spending the summer at baseball games or hanging out with family. Luckily, Addie goes with the flow.
Addie celebrated her first birthday with three different birthday parties! Kristi says Addie is an independent girl who would rather walk by herself than be held. She wants to do everything that her siblings do and finds a lot of delight in discovering how to do new things.
