“We couldn’t have a better representative for our robotic program,” Jan O’Dell, vice president of surgical services, said. “Brandon’s passion and enthusiasm for making our robotic program really successful is unmatched.”
Brandon exemplifies the Olathe Health values. His innovation was instrumental in starting the Robotic Surgery program at OMC, and his obsession with quality, safety and service has helped make the Robotic Surgery program successful. Surgeons at OMC recently completed their 800th surgery, and a second robot is being added to the program. In addition to caring for patients, Brandon also cares about his coworkers. He serves on the Connected Crew, a team that plans engaging activities for Olathe Health associates.
The Frank H. Devocelle Legacy Award recognizes Olathe Health associates who consistently give their best every day, help progress their departments and the whole organization, are role models of the Olathe Health values, and consistently provide exceptional experiences for patients and visitors. The award was created in 2018 in honor of Mr. Devocelle, who served as Olathe Health President/CEO for 43 years. He retired in December 2018.
The winner of the Frank H. Devocelle Legacy Award receives a cash award, lunch with the CEO, plus other gifts. The winner is chosen by Olathe Health senior leadership from that year’s six Outstanding Associates. The Outstanding Associates are nominated by coworkers or supervisors, and six winners are selected by the Outstanding Associate Committee, which has representatives from throughout Olathe Health. Brandon was named the 2019 January/February Olathe Health Outstanding Associate.
