The Heartsaver CPR AED course trains participants to give CPR, and use an automated external defibrillator (AED) in a safe, timely, and effective manner. Reflects science and education from the American Heart Association Guidelines Update for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC).

CLASS DESCRIPTION:

This American Heart Association course is designed for the lay rescuer requiring certification. This course teaches adult, child and infant CPR, how to aid a choking victim and AED use.  A certification ecard valid for 2 years will be issued after successful completion of the skills test.

Participants will have hands-on practice so comfortable clothing is recommended.

A student manual is included and provided in class. If you would like the student manual prior to class, you can pick it up in the Education Department located on the second floor of Olathe Medical Center. Office hours are 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Please Note – We have a minimum registration requirement of 2 students or the class will be cancelled. You will be notified 4 business days prior to the class if the class is cancelled.

The American Heart Association strongly promotes knowledge and proficiency in BLS, ACLS and PALS and has developed instructional materials for this purpose. Use of these materials in an educational course does not represent course sponsorship by the American Heart Association. Any fee charged for such a course except for a portion of fees needed for AHA course materials do not represent income to the association.
