Jason Hannagan Named CEO of Health System’s Southwest Kansas City Market
Effective May 1, Jason Hannagan became CEO of The University of Kansas Health System, Southwest Kansas City Market, and senior vice president of the Kansas City Division. With a focus on the southwest Kansas City area, Hannagan will oversee all existing Olathe Health programs, services and facilities, as well as those in the surrounding area.
Hannagan previously served as interim CEO after Olathe Health joined The University of Kansas Health System in January 2023, and has been with Olathe Health since 2019. As a valued senior leader, Hannagan will continue to guide Olathe Health through integration with the health system.
“I’ve gotten to know Jason the last several months, and know we share the same vision for the future of healthcare in our region,” Tammy Peterman, MS, RN, FAAN, NEA-BC, president of the Kansas City Division, said. “We are very excited to have him (Hannagan) as part of our team and look forward to the continued integration of Olathe Health into The University of Kansas Health System as we work to provide high-quality care close to home.”
Hannagan has shown tremendous leadership and a true desire to positively impact patients throughout the communities the combined health system serves.
“In addition to ensuring our patients continue to get the care they need, when they need it most, I will work closely with my Kansas City Division counterparts to support the combined health system’s efforts in our existing and future service areas,” Hannagan said. “I look forward to an exciting future and all that we will accomplish as one health system.”
Prior to his interim CEO role, Hannagan served as the chief ambulatory/legal officer for Olathe Health. Hannagan has a bachelor’s degree from Kansas State University, a business degree from Lipscomb University, and a law degree from Indiana University. He has experience in both profit and not-for-profit healthcare.
