Fortune/PINC AI’s 15 Top Health Systems List
Fortune PINC recognized Olathe Health as one of the Top Five Small Health Systems on its 15 Top Health Systems list. Within the small sector, Olathe Health ranked third based on publicly available data from CMS to assess multiple performance areas including clinical outcomes, operation efficiency and patient experience.
Grade “A”
Olathe Medical Center maintained its “A” Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group, a national nonprofit organization focused on patient safety. Based on an “A” to “F” grade scale, this ranking system is designed to help patients make informed healthcare decisions, helping consumers better protect themselves and their loved ones from errors, injuries, accidents and infections. OMC is one of approximately 3,000 general acute-care hospitals in the United States evaluated bi-annually on more than 30 national performance measures from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid and other data sources.

Olathe Medical Center received four-star quality ratings from Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. First introduced nearly a decade ago, the hospital star rating system, which includes a five-star scale, uses 46 measures that are put into five categories (mortality, readmission, safety, patient experience, and timely and effective care).

Olathe Medical Center earned Get With The Guidelines®-Heart Failure GOLD PLUS with Target: Heart Failure Honor Roll and Target: Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll, as well as Get With The Guidelines® – Stroke GOLD PLUS with Target: Stroke Honor Roll Elite Plus and Target: Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll.
Focused on improving patient outcomes in critical areas of care, these Get With The Guidelines awards reflect OMC’s continued commitment to providing quality care and outcomes.
High 5 for Mom & Baby Recognition
Olathe Medical Center’s The Birth Place earned High 5 for Baby recognition, a program developed by the United Methodist Health Ministry Fund to increase breastfeeding initiation and duration rates in Kansas. Focused on increasing breastfeeding initiation and duration rates in Kansas, this recognition reflects our continued commitment to infant and maternal health.
High 5 for Mom & Baby provides resources and a framework to help Kansas hospitals and birthing centers implement evidence-based practices proven to support successful breastfeeding, improving maternal and infant health outcomes while also reducing racial and ethnic health disparities.
