OLATHE, KAN. (Oct. 17, 2019) – The College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME) has chosen Olathe Health as a recipient of the 2019 CHIME Healthcare’s Most Wired Award. The award recognizes hospitals and health systems at the forefront of using healthcare IT to improve the delivery of care, have maximized benefits of foundational technologies, and are embracing new technologies.
This is the second year in a row Olathe Health has received the Most Wired award. The award identifies those organizations developing best practices and promoting the strategic use of healthcare IT to elevate the healthcare of communities around the world.
Every year, Olathe Health continues to advance its technological offerings. In 2019, the health system launched the following:
- A mobile app: The Olathe Health app provides convenient digital access to services such as bill pay, scheduling an appointment and emailing your provider.
- Expanded Online Scheduling: New patients can now request an appointment online, and current patients can choose from an expanded list of types of appointments and screenings when booking online.
- A Photon app: Providers in the emergency room can communicate with on-call specialists using this app, which improves patient care by providing timely decision making. The app includes secure access to patient data, secure messaging with other providers, an on-call scheduling tool, and alerts for consultation requests, lab and radiology results, among others.
- One Device for All: This project, set to launch in 2020, will replace the current phones and singular devices being used by clinicians at Olathe Medical Center and Miami County Medical Center with one device. This one device will provide telephone services, secure text messaging, medication administration scanning, alerts and image capture.
