Women often experience different heart attack symptoms than men. According to the American Heart Association, women may have one or more of these symptoms:
- Discomfort or pain in the center of the chest that lasts more than a few minutes, or comes and goes
- Discomfort or pain in one or both arms, neck, jaw or stomach
- Shortness of breath, as if you’ve just run a race, when in fact you’ve barely moved
- Breaking out in a cold sweat, nausea, vomiting or lightheadedness
If you have any of these symptoms or suspect that something just doesn’t “feel” right, seek medical care immediately.
